Kaan Terzioglu, CEO of Turkcell announced the operator's target to serve a larger regional footprint of 100 million customers during his keynote address at the MWC. The operator has recently reiterated its appetite for mergers and acquisitions, submitting its offer for a majority stake in FINTUR, a Turkcell-Telia Sonera partnership which operates in 4 countries - Kazakhstan, Georgia, Moldova and Azerbaijan.

Turkcell however is not limiting its goal of increasing regional relevance to mergers and acquisitions. Terzioglu talked about the opportunities provided by digital services, citing the number of BiP, Turkcell's Over-the-Top(OTT) messaging service downloads in Iran, Germany, Azerbaijan and Ukraine.

Turkcell aims to grow as an integrated operator, taking its experience in Turkey, in particular in providing services including BiP, music and personal cloud apps as well as Turkcell TV+  to the countries where the Turkcell Group operates and to the rest of the region.
