In a move that is believed to counter Verizon's new mobile plan offer, T-Mobile announced that it is giving away a free Samsung Galaxy smartphone to new and existing Simple Choice customers on 6GB, 10GB or Unlimited plan.

Under the offer, customers on the 6GB rate plan can get the Samsung Galaxy On5, while customers on a 10GB or higher plan can get either the On5 or the Samsung Galaxy J7.
As part of the deal, families can also get four lines with 6GB of data for $30 per month per line and add more lines for $20 a month. Each line would be eligible for a free Galaxy On5. Four 10GB lines cost $40 a month per line as part of the deal, and additional lines cost $30 per month. Each line would be eligible for a J7 phone.
To qualify for the promotion, users will need to maintain their T-Mobile service for 24 months to get the monthly bill credit ($5.84 per month in the case of the On5, $10 per month for the J7) and if they cancel before the 24 months pass they will need to pay the remainder of what is owed on the devices.

This is our best deal ever – a free Samsung Galaxy smartphone on us! And this is a lifeline for the carriers’ long-abused customers, who have got to be sick of the rate hikes, the restrictions and the carrier BS.
