The largest Mobile Operator in the US, Verizon Wireless has revamped its pricing plans and increased most data allowances by 33%. To provide better flexibility around these plans, the Operator introduced a new data rollover feature, called 'Carryover Data' that allows its customers the ability to roll over their unused data to future. As part of the changes, the Operator is introducing a new My Verizon app that allows customers to access all its plan options with the aim of solving customer pain points such as fear of overages and bill uncertainty by putting the customer in control.

However, this comes with an increase of Verizon's monthly rates by $5-$10.

Verizon's new rollover data feature allows customers to keep the unused data for another month without losing the data they have purchased. Carryover data automatically rolls customers' unused data from one month into the next, including any additional data that the customer purchased that month.

The new Verizon named the new plans with five simple sizes (S-M-L-XL-XXL). The new "S" plan is $35 a month for 2GB (originally $30 for 1GB), while the "M" is $50 a month for 4GB (originally $45 for 3GB). The "L" plan is priced at $70 a month for 8GB (originally $60 for 6GB), while "XL" is $90 a month for 16GB (originally $80 for 12GB) and "XXL" is $110 a month for 24GB (originally $100 for 18GB)

Cutomers are allowed to switch between data sizes with a few clicks on the My Verizon app without any penalties. On top of this, customers can use the new Safety Mode capability in the App if they have used up data allotment for the month.

With the new Safety Mode, customers that have hit their data limit will be downgraded from 4G LTE to 128 kbps speeds, which is free data over any plan size. The slower speeds in Safety Mode apply to all data usage until customers upgrade their plan, buy more data through Data Boost, or until the end of the month.

The new Safety Mode capability is bundled in the XL or XXL data size, however S-M-L size customers need to pay $5 per month if they choose to add Safety Mode.
