KT Corporation, the largest telecommunications service provider in South Korea has partnered Ubitus, a leading game virtualization technology and cloud-streaming platform provider to jointly launch cloud gaming service on a series of KT's IPTV Set-top-boxes(STB). The service will include popular game titles such as "FINAL FANTASY" series by Square Enix, "Lego Marvel Super Heroes", and "Lego Lord of the Rings" from Warner Brothers. KT introduced its gaming service "Wizgame" on IPTV STBs earlier this year and now expands the service with the cloud gaming offer.  

According to Ubitus, since the 21st of May, KT has been officially upgrading the firmware of existing KT set-top-boxes for millions of users, enabling them to access the new cloud gaming service. The service will also be available on other devices such as legacy Set-top-boxes and high-end devices such as Smart Web Set-top-boxes and UHD Set-top-boxes, all of which are expected to be connected sometime before the end of this year. The implementation of the cloud gaming service will see millions of KT's STB users enjoying premium cloud gaming services along with their IPTV subscriptions.
