Actility, a Low Power Wide Area Network (LPWAN) startup, recently formed a partnership with Japanese IT distributar, Macnica Networks to distribute and support the ThingPark IoT/M2M service platform in Japan.

Not only will Macnica Networks offer ThingPark as a component of IoT solutions for its end customers in government, manufacturing and telecoms, but the company will also provide technical support for the ThingPark developer programme in Japan, conduct ThingPark Approved interoperability testing, and sell developer kits for the local market.

Actility’s ThingPark suite is an enabler of scalable LPWA networks and interoperable IoT Applications and services. ThingPark Wireless is a core network management and supervision solution for LPWA connectivity. ThingPark OS is a central IoT management service to connect sensors to applications. ThingPark X is a data analytics and control framework which exposes data from connected things to applications, and offers off the shelf IoT  industrial applications.

ThingPark Market is a B2B ecommerce platform aggregating, distributing and connecting IoT devices and applications to the ThingPark platform. For vendors, it provides reassurance as they develop their products that they will work “out of the box” when deployed, and access to the largest base of LPWA networks globally to market their products; and for network operators, it provides a catalogue of tested devices that can be depoyed immediately in end to end solutions for their customers.

Mike Mulica, CEO, Actility
This partnership is about much more than simply distributing ThingPark. It’s about helping to grow the vitally important ecosystem around ThingPark by supporting local developers as they explore the possibilities of the IoT.

Jun Ikeda, Macnica Networks, President
We consider LoRaWAN to be a very promising technology for low power wide area IoT networks, which is getting more and more traction in the market. Our partnership with Actility is an important milestone to expand our IoT solution.
