Amdocs announced it is expanding its network functions virtualization (NFV) Partner Program to accelerate the development of pre-integrated, multi-vendor solutions from leading NFV and SDN providers and to simplify the process for service providers looking to implement NFV-based solutions across the entire service lifecycle.

Brocade, which is currently working with Amdocs on a virtual customer premises equipment (vCPE) proof-of-concept with a Tier-1 service provider, is the latest addition to Amdocs NFV Partner Program. Amdocs claims that the partner program has since grown to include more than 50 partners, including Amazon Web Services, Cisco and Juniper Networks.

Moving beyond integration with the orchestration and VNF management functions of Amdocs’ NFV orchestrator, Amdocs Network Cloud Service Orchestrator, this program offers partners new capabilities that address the holistic NFV service lifecycle.  This includes critical path processes to accelerate Virtual Network Function (VNF) onboarding through automation, and to ensure continuous fulfillment of virtual services.

Amdocs said that through the Amdocs NFV Partner Program, virtual network function (VNF) providers can easily on-board their software using Amdocs Service Design and Create, significantly reducing design, configuration and testing cycles from a typical 9-12 months down to weeks.

Ann Hatchell, head of network marketing, Amdocs
Research shows that more than 60 percent of service providers are looking to commercialize NFV services such as virtual customer premises equipment (vCPE) this year, as well as software-defined transport services.

Michael Bushong, vice president of product management, Software Networking at Brocade
Brocade is actively working with Amdocs to integrate the Amdocs Network Cloud Services Orchestrator as a key technology component of the Brocade Vyatta Network Operating System. Through this collaboration, Brocade and Amdocs enable service providers to simplify the creation and roll-out of new and revenue-generating services.
