Manx Telecom, the largest telecommunications and IT solutions provider on the Isle of Man, announced that the BroadForward Next Generation Diameter Signaling Controller (DSC) - BFX, has gone into full operation to enable the launch of 4G data roaming services and support Manx Telecom's service innovation plans. BroadForward Next Generation DSC enables Diameter connectivity and routing between the Manx Telecom network and its 4G roaming partners. Manx Telecom operates both fixed and mobile multimedia networks for subscribers and corporate clients, both on the Isle of Man and across the world.

The availability of 4G data roaming services coincided with the start of the TT, a prestigious motorcycle sport event on the Isle of Man attracting thousands of fans annually.

BroadForward provides Manx Telecom with a complete solution for Diameter Routing Agent (DRA) and Diameter Edge Agent (DEA), as well as advanced interworking across protocols such as Diameter, SS7 (MAP/CAP/INAP), RADIUS, HTTP, ENUM and LDAP.

The company claims that BFX is deployed at leading network operators and IPX providers around the world, enabling service scenarios such as routing, mediation, 3G-4G interworking, Wi-Fi / Fixed integration, legacy billing integration, subscriber lookups (SLF), Number Portability, M2M signaling and virtualization of EPC and IMS.
