Akamai, a global leader in content delivery network (CDN) services, and KT, the leading telecommunications company in Korea, today announced a partnership that combines ucloud biz, KT’s enterprise cloud service, with Akamai’s global CDN platform, in an effort to help local Korean companies expand overseas.

With this partnership, ucloud customers can quickly deliver original content stored on ucloud servers in the same high quality to users around the world via “ucloud CDN Global”. uCloud customers in Korea can access Akamai’s CDN service with just a few clicks, without having to sign a separate contract, added the vendor.

Korean pop culture, games, fashion (e-commerce) and broadcasting content has gained a strong following and is immensely popular abroad. The combination of KT’s ucloud business and Akamai’s global CDN platform allows Korean companies in these sectors to deliver high-quality services – be it online shopping or streaming Korean drama to their customers overseas – in an easy and reliable way, with no added investment to building out their infrastructure.
