NTT Com Launches New IoT Testbed to Accelerate IoT Commercialization

NTT Communications(NTT Com) has launched a new IoT Testbed in alliance with local units of major telecom vendors such as Cisco, Siemens, IBM, Oracle, Intel and others in efforts to accelerate IoT commercialization.

The IoT testbed, among others will offer use of NTT Com’s Enterprise Cloud service and Arcstar Universal One global VPN to alliance companies on a free-of-charge basis for a limited time. In general, NTT Com takes the responsibility to evaluate and verify the interconnection, operational stability, process performance, data analysis accuracy and operability of the IoT services.

The IoT testbed will be used to verify feasibility to run prove-of-concept of new IoT services and applications by combining APIs of devices, networks, cloud, applications and security using GUI, and building a development environment on NTT Com’s cloud for fast, easy development with IoT functions added in.

The testbed, among others will also be equipped with LAN and WAN connectivity using protocol-converting gateway that can be used to convert vendor-specific industrial Ethernet protocols to transmit to NTT Com’s cloud via optical-fiber and mobile circuits.
