Canadian service provider, Videotron is taking lead again to showcase live sports in Ultra HD after it debuted UHD set-top box August last year. Customers with an illico 4K Ultra HD PVR and a compatible UHD TV can enjoy the service at no extra charge.
Customers who do not have a 4K TV set will still get improved HD image quality because of the superior performance of the illico 4K Ultra HD PVR which boasts 12 times higher processing power than a standard set-top box. It supports 4 times faster navigation, can record 8 programs in HD simultaneously and store 320 hours of recordings in HD format, including 115 hours in UHD format, said the Quebec-based telecommunications company.
In addition to the live games, Videotron customers have access to one of Canada’s leading catalogues of UHD content, including movies, TV series and documentaries, as well as the Stingray Ambiance channel in UHD.
