Norway-based, Telenor group has inked a partnership with ZTE to provide the operator with new IP network gears for IP Core, Metro-E and IP-RAN networks. Under the contract, ZTE will supply its IT platform - ZXR10 T800 and Metro-E IP-RAN aggregation products - ZXR10, M6000-S and ZXCTN 9000-E based on the 400G platform. It also includes ZXCTN 6100 series, alongside the large-capacity, high port density MPLS switches ZXR10 5900E and ZXR10 8900E.

According to ZTE, these products meet the demand required by Telenor. ZTE’s wavelength-division multiplexing (WDM) products, such as the ZXONE 9700, meet Core, Metro, and Access demands, said the vendor.

In February, Telenor entered into a five-year global framework agreement with ZTE to provide radio access network (RAN) equipment and services including 2G, 3G and 4G technologies.

With the existing equipment and service agreement, Telenor’s market approach and technology are completely integrated with ZTE’s technical strength in bearer network product research and development.
