US Cable Operator, Comcast deploys ARRIS DOCSIS 3.0 residential voice gateway, TG1682 for its new XB3 service that will enable gigabit wireless speeds, IP video technology and integrated home automation and security capabilities to subscribers.

The ARRIS TG1682 that runs on an open-source software is a residential voice gateway that combines 24DS channel bonding, two analog voice lines, a 4-port Gigabit Router, MoCA 2.0 for superior in-home coverage, and a Dual Band 802.11ac wireless access point, into a single integrated device.

The TG1682 can achieve exceptional high-bandwidth performance and can serve as the hub of the subscriber's network, connecting all IP-capable devices (Internet, Data, Voice and Video) throughout the customer's home, said Arris.

Ken Klaer, Senior Vice President of Premises Technologies at Comcast
We are committed to providing our customers with the best, fastest in-home wifi experience, and the XB3 is a powerful tool for delivering on that commitment.
