Norway-based Telenor Group's subsidiary in India, Uninor has awarded a large deal worth Rs 1,200 crores to Huawei to upgrade its mobile network across all its six circles. Under the contract, Huawei will swap the Operator's 24,000 base stations with Huawei’s new architecture, platforms and equipment. The three years contract will also see Huawei undertaking managed services portfolio, integrating Uninor's multi-vendors network that includes swapping of existing network with new and modern equipment, planning and optimization, maintenance services and customer experience management.

The upgrade will enable Uninor which has 49 million customers in India to prepare for its network expansion and to offer advanced Internet services.
