Swedish WiFi solutions provider to Rail Operators, Icomera is bringing passenger Wi-Fi technology to public transport users in Brazil via its local partner N1 Telecom. Icomera said that its wireless routers - M310 and M340 - are certified by Anatel, the national telecommunications agency for deployment in Brazil.
According to Icomera, its solutions run on an Open System and the company's hardware is designed with Open Architecture principles. The company said that it has been delivering Internet connectivity for public transport vehicles in Europe since 2001. Icomera cited an independent research in Europe that once people have used Wi-Fi on public transport, they are 70% more likely to travel on it again if Wi-Fi is available.

We are really pleased to announce that our technology has been certified for deployment in Brazil. Passenger Wi-Fi solutions developed around the M310 and M340 routers deliver a return on investment against a wide range of business cases. The ability to offer public transport operators a choice of routers allows us to tailor a solution that best fits their immediate and longer-term needs.
