SK Telecom has deployed Accedian Networks performance monitoring solution on its mobile network, covering 2,000 locations across the six largest cities in South Korea. The company said that it plans to extend the coverage to nationwide to cater for SK's 28 million subscribers. Accedian's platform enables SK Telecom to gain QoS visibility across its multi-vendor mobile network.
Accedian, a leading performance assurance solution provider, said that the virtualized solution collects precise network performance indicators in real time from SK Telecom’s existing network infrastructure, as well as from Accedian’s NFV-based (network function virtualization) performance assurance modules. Having this real-time stream of Quality of Experience (QoE) metrics integrated with SK Telecom’s own performance assurance network management system (NMS) and SDN controllers allows SK Telecom to optimize end-to-end user experience with performance trending and proactive fault management, said Accedian.
