Ooyala, a Telstra subsidiary and a leading innovator in premium video publishing, analytics and monetization, recently announced its partnership with NICE PEOPLE AT WORK (NPAW), integrating Ooyala’s widely deployed video player with NPAW’s YOUBORA Analytics Quality-of-Service (QoS) platform. With this integration, video publishers can now monitor and improve video stream quality, thereby boosting video engagement and monetization.

The integration with NPAW is a separate, yet complementary product to Ooyala’s audience analytics solution, Ooyala IQ, which provides a complete 360-degree view of content performance and audience engagement. Adding QoS analytics provides customers with even more actionable intelligence required for business decisions.

According to Ooyala, YOUBORA Analytics accesses data directly from the Ooyala video player, providing information that drills down to the quality of video streams by individual user, IP address, transaction or via historical information, empowering customer service agents to pinpoint and resolve issues quickly. This includes key stream quality metrics such as buffer ratios, exits before video starts (EBVS), join times, play failures, bitrates, interruptions, and more.

Jonathan Wilner, VP, Products, Ooyala
We are dedicated to providing our customers with the solutions that they need to grow their video business. Providing customers with real-time analytics and insights about the quality of their video streams allows our customers to pinpoint key information, such as why viewers stop watching particular videos, or are more apt to drop off on a certain device. It’s an important addition in Ooyala’s arsenal of monetization tools.

Sergi Vergés, COO, NPAW
This integration is a perfect pairing. By joining forces with Ooyala, customers can now leverage two critical aspects of their video strategy, both video engagement analytics and quality of stream information. We’re excited to see how premium content providers are able to optimize their business for the highest engagement and yields.
