InterCloud Systems, a leading provider of cloud networking orchestration and automation solutions and services, has recently launched a new cloud service, 'SDN/NFV Proof of Concept (POC)-as-a-service(POCaaS)' for enterprises and Operators to fast track the deployment of software-defined networking (SDN) and network functions virtualization (NFV). With the cloud service which is offered on a pay as you go model, InterCloud aims to dramatically reduce SDN/NFV POC lead times.

According to InterCloud, it has initially built infrastructure supporting Openstack and Juniper Networks Open Contrail SDN. To facilitate customers, the company has also made available a free Openstack and Contrail SDN lab on their website for customers to access Openstack and Contrail environments. The company said that in addition to its physical and virtual infrastructure, enterprises and Operators wishing to move to SDN and NFV can engage its team of InterCloud engineers to speed up the deployment of these POCs.

Mark Munro, CEO, InterCloud
Setting up an SDN-POC is a major project in itself. We want to expedite the process for our customers by offering POC-as-a-Service and saving them valuable time in setting up the entire lab and going through months of expensive designs and installations. Our POC portal allows clients to book a date which will give our customer uninterrupted access to our Juniper Contrail SDN and Openstack deployment where they can start with our simplified POC-setup guide to have a lab architecture topology up and running smoothly and quickly.
