Temboo, a cloud-based code generation platform provider, this week announced that Samsung has selected its technology stack to support their newly unveiled ARTIK platform for the Internet of Things (IoT). Temboo provides a technology stack that brings together hardware platforms, programming languages, data storage services, APIs, and connectivity options to build IoT applications. Samsung ARTIK board comes natively with a Temboo library that lets developers quickly generate codes for the IoT applications they are building.

The New York-based IoT Stack firm said that the ARTIK platform includes a series of new programmable Samsung development boards that when combined with Temboo, enable developers to bring the computing power and flexible programming features of Temboo’s cloud-based platform to all ARTIK devices, including MCUs, SoCs, gateways and mobile apps.

Temboo claims that devices can connect to the Temboo platform to execute any of over 2,000 processes for more than 100 APIs, databases, and code utilities in its Choreo Library, and also build their own processes to connect to any other web-based resource. A Temboo library is loaded on the Samsung ARTIK platform, enabling ARTIK boards to behave more intelligently and flexibly when programmed using Temboo, said the company.

Curtis Sasaki, Vice President of Ecosystem, Samsung Electronics
Bringing Temboo’s technology stack to the ARTIK platform is an important part of our effort to provide developers all the tools they need to design and build a wide range of IoT devices and applications. Together, we can lower the barriers around programming IoT devices to interact with the cloud, enabling developers to build multi-functional applications in minutes.

Trisala Chandaria, co-founder of Temboo
We’re excited to be working with Samsung to enable a powerful new platform for developing connected device applications. With a Temboo library pre-loaded with the ARTIK platform, Temboo users can begin working with ARTIK right off the bat to build IoT applications that take full advantage of the integration between Temboo’s connected device software stack and Samsung’s ARTIK platform.
