Mobile data optimization specilist, CENTRI, Thursday announced that they have completed successful trials in Latin America for their BitSmart solution. CENTRI claims that the BitSmart solution which uses patented optimization techniques that dynamically reduce the amount of data transmitted across the network, can help operators with an average of 35% savings on mobile bandwidth costs.

The trials included CENTRI’s BitSmart image and video optimization solution  which provide adaptable media optimization, delivery and policy enforcement solution. CENTRI said that the solution provides the broadest capabilities coupled with superior performance and scalability to reduce network congestion caused by streaming video/audio, web content and application downloads while balancing network performance/costs with quality-of-experience.

The trials encompassed the testing of transcoding, caching, pacing and using patented optimization techniques while measuring entry data and exit data. CENTRI took various samplings showing the entry data, the exit data and amount saved through BitSmart. CENTRI added that the BitSmart helps network operators intelligently optimize and manage the flow of data across their networks in real-time, reducing the need for operators to invest in additional network infrastructure while lowering backhaul, spectrum and transport costs.

The rapid consumer adoption of mobile video streaming, connected devices and social sharing are providing new challenges for operators to manage the capacity on their networks. The new release of BitSmart gives operators a comprehensive solution to optimize and manage all of the data traveling on their networks. The successful trials showcase the savings in capital and operational expenditure, and reinforce the value of BitSmart.
