Ericsson announced that Zain Jordan has selected its Charging & Billing in One (CBIO) solution to give its prepaid and postpaid subscribers enhanced billing flexibility. This will make it easier for them to try new services without having to worry about facing unexpected charges at the end of the month. A single Ericsson convergent rating solution will replace five different rating engines and pave Zain's way for future advanced technologies. The CBIO solutions also support new machine-to-machine (M2M) offerings and advanced subscriber and partner management capabilities enabling vast opportunities for operators to be innovative in their service offerings.

convergent chargingAhmad Al Hanandeh, CEO, Zain Jordan, says: "This latest step in our partnership with Ericsson will allow us to provide unparalleled billing flexibility to our subscribers and pave the way for the introduction of more advanced technologies in the future. Zain revolutionized telecommunications in Jordan by introducing GSM mobile services to the country in 1994. To this day we continue to adopt cutting-edge technology to provide state of the art services to our subscribers."

"We envision a world where everything that can be connected will be connected," says Tarek Saadi, President, Ericsson North Middle East. "This opens new opportunities for communication, innovation, and productivity. The basis for this transformation is a truly convergent charging and billing solution - one that keeps the complexity away from subscribers and provides them with a seamless experience. Zain has anticipated the need for a converged system to work hand in hand with their long-term strategy and with the system's support; they will be able to continuously introduce more advanced technology to meet subscriber demand."
