Marking its re-entry into the mobile market, BT this week, announced the launch of mobile data value deals for its existing BT Broadband homes. The deals include bundles of 4G data, minutes and text for as little as £5 a month. BT which returned to the UK's mobile scene with the acquisition of EE last month, said that the SIM-only plans combine its 4G network with unlimited access to the most extensive wi-fi coverage via more than 5 million BT Wi-fi hotspots and bundle the free BT Sport on the BT Sport App for customers, allowing UK's football fans to catch up live and exclusive Barclays Premier League football matches.

The £5 a month offer provides 500MB of 4G data, unlimited texts and 200 voice minutes for customers with BT Broadband and £10 a month for those without. BT Broadband customers can also opt for a larger 4G data offer of 2GB, with unlimited texts and 500 minutes at the price of £12 a month, or £17 for those without subscription to BT Broadband. At the higher end, customers can take the 4G data allowance of 20GB, with unlimited texts and minutes, for just £20 a month and for those without BT Broadband, £25 monthly.

The new 12-month contract deals also come with a number of features such as parental controls, monthly caps that help customers obviate bill shocks and the freedom to shift between plans.

John Petter, chief executive of BT Consumer
Offering BT customers the UK’s best value 4G data deal is a great way to start our journey towards re-establishing ourselves as a major player in consumer mobile. We are offering 4G on the UK’s biggest network along with unlimited access to the most extensive wi-fi coverage via our 5m BT Wi-fi hotspot network.
