Denodo enhances its data source connectivity offering with certified support for Hortonworks Data Platform, a leader in Apache Hadoop for the Enterprise. According to Denodo, the combination of its Data Virtualization and Hortonworks will help customers to achieve the maximum benefits on their Big Data initiatives. Denodo Data Virtualization offers a data abstraction layer over Hadoop, NoSQL and traditional enterprise repositories, allowing execution of reports through SQL queries. Denodo Data Virtualization allows creating “virtual data marts”, i.e. a collection of virtual views, with information scattered across data warehouses, operational systems (including the Cloud), Hadoop and enterprise repositories.
In a separate news, it was reported that Denodo has upgraded its Data Virtulization platform to an integrated version - Denodo Platform 5.5 including support for more data types, ubiquitous data, bigger data volumes, data and metadata discovery, and delivering more agility and value than traditional technologies. Denodo added that the version 5.5 includes key capabilities for real-time query optimization supported by intelligent caching and scheduled data orchestration, unified data governance and quality, and the ability to deliver data services in multiple formats with managed security and service-levels.
