Amdocs, a leading provider of software and services to communications and media companies, announced DISH Network as the recipient of the Amdocs Innovation Award, which celebrates customers’ success and recognizes customers who have delivered true market leadership, innovation, or industry firsts. DISH was honored for its rapid deployment and launch of the first cloud-native 5G Open RAN network.
DISH now offers 5G broadband service to over 70 percent of the U.S. population, giving more than 240 million Americans access to the latest in connectivity technology. This marks a milestone for the U.S. telecom industry, as DISH’s 5G network was designed, built and deployed in three years, including launching over 15,000 5G sites. As part of this effort, DISH worked with Amdocs to accelerate and automate the rollout of its 5G Open RAN network, satisfying FCC commitments.
