BBIX, an Internet Exchange and subsidiary of SoftBank, is teaming up with Obihiro City Cable (OCTV) on the Open Connectivity eXchange (OCX). Under this partnership, BBIX will add the OCX connection point to OCTV’s Data Center, beginning May next year.

OCX is a cloud-based network service provided by BBIX and BBSakura Networks, a network solutions provider and subsidiary of BBIX. OCX provides on-demand, highly secure, low-latency, scalable connectivity services to a variety of cloud services and data centers used by customers.

As the local provider of broadcast, Internet and telephone services, OCTV works closely with the local government and law enforcement in order to help reduce or prevent the hazardous events. With the promotion of digital transformation, OCTV will lead activities in the Tokachi area and contribute to the local community by providing various communication services.

By combining BBIX and BBSakura’s secure and high-quality OCX with OCTV’s diverse communication services, the business partnership will promote DX and enrich local lifestyles in the Tokachi area to meet the various needs of the customers.
