Atosa, a multinational distributor of toys, costumes and accessories, has chosen Telefónica Tech to transform its order dispatch system in order to make it more efficient and competitive.

Telefónica Tech, through its company Geprom, has carried out a technological consultancy and implemented a PTL (Put to Light) system in the spanish company to optimise the tasks of collection, location and preparation of orders by means of colour codes.

The PTL system is integrated with Atosa’s warehouse management (WMS) and production (MES) tools and is complemented by the benefits provided by the use of ProGlove’s industrial smart glove. Telefónica Tech has implemented these gloves in the company, which replace traditional picking guns, as they provide accurate barcode reading, greater productivity in the preparation of orders and greater ergonomics and comfort for employees.

ProGlove’s industrial smart gloves are equipped with a scanner, a battery and a display so that operators can scan the barcodes of the goods and place them according to the colour and location marked on the PTL. Once each box has been filled with the units that make up the order, a white sensor is activated in the PTL so that the operator can complete the packaging and direct it towards the sorter for dispatch.

Dario Cesena, CEO of Geprom Part of Telefónica Tech, said: “The PTL system and the smart gloves will allow Atosa to speed up the dispatch of orders by avoiding potential errors, as well as having greater control over inventories and product quality. We are very grateful that they have chosen us to accompany them in the digital transformation of their business.

Antonio Esteban Abad, IT and logistics manager at Atosa,

The implementation of the PTL system has meant an important improvement in several aspects, such as the increase in production capacity per operator, the increase in precision, the reduction of the space used by the handling machinery, without forgetting the energy savings. The subsequent incorporation of Proglove gloves has improved productivity in product sorting tasks and ergonomics. All of this has led to a substantial improvement in the handling processes of customer order preparation. The whole project has been carried out in very close collaboration, from the beginning to the implementation, which has allowed the solution to be 100% adapted to our needs
