Consolidated Communications yesterday announced that the residents and businesses of Nicollet can now access multi-gig internet speeds from Fidium, the new fiber internet service by the company.
In recognition of this remarkable milestone, Mayor Fred Froehlich, members of the city council, business leaders and community members will celebrate Nicollet’s new status as a “Gig Town” during a brief ribbon cutting ceremony in front of City Hall, 401 Pine St., Nicollet, Minn.
The celebration will include remarks from Jennifer Spaude, senior vice president of Communications for Consolidated Communications Photo opportunities will be available throughout the event, with individual interviews immediately following the event. The celebration will continue at the Cruisin’ on Pine and 99 event, where representatives from Fidium will be on hand to provide information and sign up interested residents and small businesses.
