Skyvera yesterday announced the successful upgrade of MTN Sudan’s platform using Skyvera’s industry-leading, cloud-native digital BSS/OSS portfolio.

The digital transformation project enables MTN Sudan, one of the leading mobile operators in Sudan, to use out-of-the-box features from Skyvera’s cloud-native portfolio to meet more than 85% of its business requirements, helping it to progress on its Ambition 2025 strategy to fully digitize its operations as more customers come online for the first time across the country. The upgrade included deep observability, automated business processes, auto-scaling/auto-healing capabilities, and TM Forum-certified APIs, enabling MTN’s digital operator objectives.

The project has delivered impressive results, including completely digitizing the subscriber onboarding journey and offering subscribers greater flexibility to use the SIM purchased from POS, resellers, and distributors. Additionally, it has digitized the self-service checkout, persistent shopping cart, activation, and account management. The fully converged billing solution includes retail, wholesale, and interconnect billing, and charging for postpaid subscribers. These improvements have resulted in a better experience for B2C, B2B, and wholesale customers using cutting-edge technologies and a web-scale platform.

The partnership with Skyvera enabled project delivery with speed and ease compared to past upgrades. With over 12 million active subscribers and more than two million orders processed daily, Skyvera’s cloud-native stack is geared to support MTN Sudan’s multi-dimensional growth plans of 1.4 billion transactions per month.
