Airtel-Vodafone has selected Nokia Networks as the exclusive vendor for 4G network in the Channel Islands/UK. Nokia Networks will provide the operator with its 4G equipments as well as its professional services to roll out the service. Airtel-Vodafone, a partnership between two of the world’s leading telecoms companies expects 4G services in the island to be available in the first half on 2015.
The new deal follows on from Nokia Networks' major order from China Mobile, the world’s largest wireless operator for the deployment of its 4G TD-LTE technology.
