SaskTel and Axiom Exploration Group announced they have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaboratively explore opportunities that will help organizations across Saskatchewan enhance and modernize their operations through the collection and analysis of geospatial and other geophysical data.

Based in Saskatoon, Axiom is a multi-disciplinary consulting firm that collects, processes and utilizes data from satellites, unmanned aerial vehicles, manned aircraft and terrestrial methods to collect and analyze unique geospatial data sets through the use of various specialized imaging technologies, including LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging), Photogrammetry, Electromagnetic, Magnetic, Radiometric, Ground Penetrating Radar, Hyper/Multispectral, and Thermal sensors. In turn, Axiom uses advanced Artificial Intelligence, Machine and Deep Learning to translate rich datasets into meaningful insights.

When combined with the data management and analysis capabilities of SaskTel’s innovation ecosystem, Axiom’s data sets and insights provide operators in Agriculture, Utility, Oil & Gas, Mining, Indigenous, Municipal, and Environmental sectors with detailed and actionable information that enhances their decision-making capabilities and would otherwise be impossible to acquire.

Doug Burnett, SaskTel President and CEO
Their unique skillset will be a valuable addition to the innovation ecosystem we have systematically developed in recent years and will help us transform Saskatchewan into a smart province where technology-based solutions play an integral role in supporting and driving economic growth.

Doug Engdahl, Axiom President & CEO
It has been an incredibly positive experience working with SaskTel to date, the support, innovation, collaboration, and drive to produce meaningful results aligns perfectly with Axiom. The joint projects on a local and global scale that are currently being developed will positively impact our Agriculture, Mining, Oil & Gas, Utility, Forestry and Environmental sectors while continuing to strengthen Saskatchewan’s position as a world class jurisdiction.
