As a leading digital solutions provider and its three years LEAD growth strategy, Ethio Telecom has launched its business empowering Cloud Computing Service, telecloud.

Cloud Computing Service is a digital solution that allows institutions seeking an efficient off-site data back-up solution and individuals who need larger storage spaces to store, compile and access various services in secure data centers built by digital solution providers without the need to build their own data center or acquire additional infrastructure.

The operator announced that it has officially started providing telecloud services which meet the demand of our Nation’s private and government institutions that require high data storage and utilization.

The company offers three types of cloud services:

 - Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) is a cloud service that allows users to save their personal information from wherever they are, compile and provide various services to their customers.

 - Platform as a Service (PaaS)- primarily allows software developers to use a complete database management system (MySQL DB) for their developed software.

 - Software as a Service (SaaS)- is a service where customers can get software, paying their license fees using telecloud for a reasonable price in Birr, which they other wise would have bought in foreign currency. The company initially offers the following three services and will continue to offer various additional software.

3.1. Oneoffice productivity and collaboration solution is an office application for customers to perform writing and other office services.

3.2. Video Management System (VMS) customers can use this service to connect their security video cameras to a video management system and access as much data storage as they need.

3.3. Smart Education productivity /Ulearning, educational institutions can get many benefits by providing distance and face-to-face education in a modern way with the help of smart education, and they can share educational resources, assessment and provide fully equipped laboratory for their students.

By using the cloud service, organizations and institutions can avoid the time spent on technology selection, infrastructure construction, training and maintenance, as well as foreign exchange payments, so that they can focus only on their business activities and service quality and avoid unnecessary expenses.
