Edgecore Networks this week announced the launch of the MLTG-CN LR, the latest addition to its Terragraph-certified 60GHz product line—the MLTG series.

The MLTG series is now available to be managed by Edgecore’s ecCLOUD controller. IT staff can manage their devices anytime, anywhere. Edgecore Networks has been devoted to 60GHz innovation. The MLTG series exploits the 60GHz spectrum and 802.11ay-based WiGig technology to deliver fiber-like speeds over the air at a significantly lower cost and faster time-to-market than trenched fiber. The MLTG series can support three different modes-mesh mode with full IPv6, mesh mode with Hybrid IPv4-IPv6, and Bridge mode, to provide resilient and agile network infrastructure for stress-free coverage extension and multi-path reliability. Now with its new member, the MLTG-CN LR, the 60GHz product line becomes more complete and flexible.

With a high-gain antenna design and beamforming technology, the MLTG-CN LR is designed for long-range deployments. The MLTG-CN LR can be paired to rapidly build long-range Point-to-Point (PtP) links of up to 1 km for backhaul and last-mile access, and deliver fiber-like multi-gigabit throughput up to 3.6 Gbps. When connected with the MLTG-360 or MLTG-CN, the MLTG-CN LR can also function as an endpoint to provide last-mile wireless gigabit connectivity to a client site, such as a warehouse, company building, or residential area. Furthermore, the LED lights on the back of the MLTG-CN LR show the signal strength for easy alignment and quick deployment.

Initiated by Meta Connectivity, Terragraph is the gigabit wireless technology designed to meet the growing demand for reliable, high-speed internet access in urban and suburban environments. Edgecore Networks has made significant contributions to this initiative and the effort has resulted in innovative products. The MLTG-CN LR extends the connection distance while addressing the signal coverage in high-density environments, solving connection range issues as well as reducing deployment costs. It brings the advantages of the mmWave spectrum in an easy-to-deploy solution.
