Hetnet Software Introduces HetnetIP to Automate Wireless IP Network and NFV/SDN

Hetnet Software, Tuesday released HetnetIP, a product suite for Mobile Operators to Automate Wireless Network Management and Network Functions Virtualization (NFV). HetnetIP also provides integrated management of NFV capabilities (MANO), SDN controller automation and IP network to provide end-to-end service management and service chaining orchestration. HetnetIp is available as SAAS or licensed model.

In addition, the new product also lays the foundation for expanding automation to physical and virtual environments across the entire network utilizing Openstack for NFV and SDN integration, in addition to more sophisticated SON and user experience applications as well as virtualized service chaining, said Hetnet.

According to Hetnet, they are involved in a number of network operator trials including automating non-line-of-sight backhaul link configuration and integration into real-time monitoring and healing applications.

"As Mobile Operators are experiencing unprecedented growth in data network usage, it is driving mass densification and service virtualization projects in all major markets, especially those deploying LTE. They are looking for ways to accommodate growth and service expectations, combined with the ability to customize services, all with the objective of keeping operating expenses as low as possible. The only way to do this is network automation."

-        Ed Kurzenski, COO of Hetnet Software

"Software that enables the unattended or automatic integration of small cells into not only the RAN environment but the backhaul and core is imperative in order to ensure small cells can be economically deployed, tuned and operated. Hetnet Software's wireless IP backhaul automation solution takes SON into the area of backhaul for the first time making IP backhaul implementation cost effective and error-free."
