ZTE has signed a global frame agreement with Ooredoo Group for the supply of radio, cloud core, transport and 4G/5G CPE/terminals as well as related implementation and integration services for the Ooredoo Group’s operating companies.

This global frame agreement extends the strategic partnership between the two parties for further five years. ZTE, as one of the Ooredoo Group's current primary service and network equipment suppliers, has partnered with Ooredoo in Algeria, Tunis and Indonesia, where ZTE has supplied its RAN portfolio, Optical DWDM, FTTX, IP, cloud-native packet & voice core software, CPE terminals & Microwave and turnkey managed services with some Ooredoo's operating companies. Recently, ZTE and Ooredoo have extended ZTE’s footprint with new projects awarded in Algeria and Indonesia for microwave and IPRAN respectively.

Under the amendment to the new Group Framework Supply Agreement (GFSA), Ooredoo will benefit from ZTE’s latest 5G technology solutions and services, for instance, the highly-integrated and powerful BBU platform-V9200. The platform has the highest capacity in the industry and its single board can support 2G/3G/4G/5G simultaneously. Besides, the platform provides a variety of high-performance RF product portfolios with low power consumption, supporting flexible 5G deployment strategies.

ZTE will provide new-generation IPRAN products, which support end-to-end SRv6 deployments in all scenarios of 2G, 3G, LTE, 5G and FMC (Fixed-Mobile Convergence), thereby allowing its customers to meet the service demands in the next five years with one single investment. By virtue of ZTE's new-generation microwave NR9000 series with E-band capability, the customers can achieve the evolution of transmission network in 4G/LTE-A and future 5G networks, and overcome the challenges of capacity, spectrum and network capability.

Christian Linhart, Group Chief Procurement Officer, Ooredoo
This will enable our companies around the world to continue co-operation on a wide range of leading-edge networks supplied by the one of the global leaders in telecommunications and information technology to enrich our customers’ digital lives.

Nigel Byrne, Group Chief Technology Information Officer, Ooredoo
With our industry still experiencing the effects of the pandemic, such as the global scarcity of chipsets, the extended partnership will ensure stability and reliability of supply, as well as the availability of state-of-the-art products and services to our customers.
