As DISH Network continues its buildout of software-defined 5G wireless broadband network, the company has entered into a multi-year agreement with leading network software provider Mavenir to deliver cloud-native OpenRAN software.

The Colorado-based Company provides television entertainment and technology to millions of customers with its satellite DISH TV and streaming Sling TV services. 

OpenRAN refers to disaggregated RAN functionality built using open interface specifications between elements. It can be implemented in vendor-neutral hardware and software-defined technology based on open interfaces and community-developed standards.
