i3forum, a not-for-profit industry body enabling and accelerating transformation across the carrier ecosystem, has launched i3forum Insights to support carrier planning, routing and optimisation with market data. Beta testing was completed in December 2019 and the service has now officially launched with nine “early adopter” carriers.

BICS, BTS, iBasis, Orange, PCCW Global, Tata Communications, Sparkle, Telefónica International Wholesale Services, and Telstra will benefit from rapid access to accurate and high-quality data aggregated and anonymised in a single platform, said i3forum. Each participating carrier is able to compare its own individual data against aggregated data provided by all participating carriers using analytics engine, Tableau. Individual data provided by each carrier is kept 100% anonymous and confidential at all times with no other party able to access it.

i3forum Insights is powered by TeleGeography, experts in managing large data sets in the carrier industry. Beta testing of the platform by participating carriers enabled TeleGeography to identify opportunities to refine the platform and add new capabilities. i3forum Insights will continue to develop based on user feedback and the addition of new KPIs based on carrier demand.

The service is available to international carriers across the globe, even if they are not members of the i3forum. All participating carriers must agree to contribute their data and meet obligations to ensure the seamless operation of the platform.

Philippe Millet, Chairman of i3forum
The launch of i3forum Insights is a real milestone for our organisation. It demonstrates our ability to bring together carriers from across the globe to create a not-for-profit, industry controlled platform that supports the sustainability and optimisation of Voice businesses. It provides an opportunity to unlock new potential in Voice with data-driven insights.
