Locix recently announced the commercial launch of its WiFi-based, ultra-precise and cost-effective local positioning system (LPS).

Locix LPS is a full-stack solution for location determination of WiFi enabled devices such as, asset trackers, mobile phones, IoT sensors, appliances, and equipment, with sub-meter accuracy in indoor and outdoor environments. It enables enterprises to accurately and reliably locate and analyze the use of human and material resources to significantly increase visibility and improve productivity and efficiency. Given the omnipresence of WiFi, Locix WiFi-based LPS enables a new capability for spatial awareness and a broad range of new spatially intelligent mobile applications.

Locix LPS is a full stack solution to locate and track WiFi devices. Key features of the solution include:

 - LPS Cloud to analyze spatial data using proprietary localization and tracking algorithms to accurately locate and track WiFi devices.

 - Locix WiFi based location anchor stations to facilitate turnkey installation and deployment.

 - Locix’s battery powered WiFi based trackers (enabled by Locix WiFi 802.11.ac SoC, intertial sensors, and ultra-low power wireless network) to locate workers, industrial assets and mobile equipment.

 - Support for WiFi-enabled devices such as, IoT sensors, appliances, and mobile phones.

Norio Nakajima, Senior Executive VP, Module Business Unit, Morata Manufacturing
In real world industrial and commercial buildings, Locix’s WiFi-based LPS has now been demonstrated to be substantially more accurate and cost effective than alternative local positioning systems.

Vik Pavate, CEO of Locix
Locix LPS is the equivalent of GPS for indoor environments. It will create significant value for our customers in indoor environments, in the same way GPS has enabled in outdoor environments.
