Indonesia’s Smartfren has signed an agreement with ZTE for 4G network expansion and 5G network trials. The agreement was signed by at a recent Indonesia - China Business Forum.

In 2017, the two companies conducted trials of Massive Multiple Input, Multiple Output (Massive MIMO) and Multi-Antenna Space Division Multiple Access (SDMA) technology, as part of plans to optimise the development of its 4G LTE Advanced (LTE-A) services.

Collaboration with ZTE is not just for the development of 5G, ZTE is still working with Smartfren to expand 4G networks in Indonesia. Hopefully with this collaboration, we will have better quality of telecommunications services in Indonesia.
