KDDI and Okinawa Cellular are offering a flat rate travel data eSIM worldwide.
Powered by GigSky's eSIM platform, the service enables users of dual SIM-compatible iPhones to use local data services through a secondary phone line when traveling in North America and Hawaii. Since the service is purchased through a special app as a plan with a preset time period and data volume, it is easy to use without worry.
KDDI and Okinawa Cellular provide the service for a flat rate of ¥980 per 24 hours of access worldwide. The offer is made in response to the needs expressed by customers who want to economically use the same iPhone overseas that they always use in Japan. Now customers can access data service through their own iPhones without having to rent a Wi-Fi router. The service brings convenience and availability of service not just to holiday travel, but also to long-term stays like study abroad.
