Telia Company announced that it has secured the largest narrowband IoT contract in Norway yet.
The three-year agreement with waste disposal container tracking company StalkIT, covers 100,000 connected devices in Telia’s nationwide narrowband IoT network.
Narrowband IoT (NB-IoT) is a new communication technology that enables excellent coverage indoors, outdoors and in the ground. It is ideal for things that run on battery or only send data irregularly. NB-IoT is a cost-efficient way of connecting devices to existing mobile networks.
Telia Company recently inaugurated its nationwide NB-IoT network and has now closed the first commercial contract with waste disposal container tracking company StalkIT. It has developed a service that provides waste management operators with new and detailed knowledge regarding the location and status of their containers. The three-year contract enables StalkIT to connect 100,000 devices to Telia’s NB-IoT network.
