ZTE has unveiled Knitter, an end-to-end container networking solution in the open-source NFV field, promoting the development of cloud native technology and the open source ecosystem.

With the boost of 5G process, the industry demand varies greatly. The ability to quickly adapt with low cost and keep continuous innovation is the way to development. As the best carrier for NFV transformation, container has become a stimuli to innovation and development, said ZTE. Container-based cloud native applications will become the trend of CT applications. However, the native kubernetes network model used in the IT industry is too simple to meet telco service requirements.

ZTE’s unified ICT PaaS platform, TECS OpenPalette, is based on the Knitter container and Kubernetes cluster management technologies. It not only provides the digital transformation of governments and enterprises with PaaS, but also serves the telco NFV field, enabling telcos to provide faster and better services, achieve continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), and reduce the development cost.

To address telecom application requirements such as high concurrency, large throughput, and multiple network planes, ZTE TECS OpenPalette platform provides the Knitter container networking solution.

In addition to supporting the native Kubernetes network, it offers a complete set of end-to-end container networking solution in the NFV field, including multiple network planes, static application IP address, IP address migration, configurable IP resources, high-performance forwarding and more.
