Openwave Mobility announced that its User Data Repository (UDR) for virtualized networks has achieved VMware Ready status for Network Functions Virtualization (NFV).

According to Openwave Mobility, the UDR solution, Subscriber Data Management Cloud Edition (SDM-CE) has achieved VMware’s highest level of endorsement and can now be found on the VMware Solution Exchange (VSX).

SDM-CE offers built-in federation and replication, which means that network applications can read and write data from any data center or even data silos. The solution enables operators to onboard new applications in just two weeks, compared to the average subscriber data provisioning integration of nine months. Compared to other competing solutions, SDM-CE requires 60 percent fewer virtual machines. With Openwave Mobility’s solution, network providers can create and deliver value in the OTT and Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystems and achieve increased service agility and harness the benefits of virtualization.

The VMware Ready program is a co-branding benefit of the Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program that makes it easy for customers to identify partner products certified to work with VMware infrastructure.

Customers can use these products and solutions to help lower project risks and realize cost savings over custom-built solutions. With thousands of members worldwide, the VMware TAP program includes best-of-breed technology partners with the shared commitment to bring the best expertise and business solution for each unique customer need.

Through a robust SDM-CE UDR solution, operators can truly benefit from the agility of NFV, secure and scale IoT networks, and lay the foundation for an ultra-low latency 5G edge. And now, we are making SDM-CE available on VMware vCloud NFV.

The effective management of subscriber data underpins the success of an operator’s IoT and virtualization strategy. Operators deploying SDM-CE on VMware can now fill this gap and benefit from cost savings, faster time to market and flexibility.
