AT&T has extended its global alliance with Akamai to continue to offer Akamai's full product suite, including media delivery and web security services, as part of its broader portfolio of business solutions.

The renewed alliance means AT&T business customers in the U.S. and around the globe will continue to have access to Akamai services as part of a comprehensive portfolio of cloud and network solutions from AT&T.

In addition, Akamai is expanding its global server footprint located at the edge of AT&T’s IP network. These deployments are designed to help provide AT&T customers with higher-quality experiences through more efficient content routing and improved delivery of digital content, video and Web applications.

Since 2012, both companies have dedicated resources to enhance the performance, reliability, security, and scalability of websites and web-based applications for hundreds of customers across industries including Finance, Commerce, and Entertainment, among others.

Mo Katibeh, SVP of AT&T Advanced Solutions
As today’s web, content, and media landscape continues to evolve, we are combining AT&T’s business solutions with Akamai’s capabilities to provide AT&T customers with a highly secure, robust, and scalable web delivery platform. The use of AT&T IP networks and AT&T Security Services along with Akamai CDN and related web security services is a powerful one.

Tom Leighton, CEO and Co-founder, Akamai
Together, we’ve demonstrated the value and efficiencies of having Akamai’s content delivery capabilities deployed deep into the AT&T IP network. We’re excited to add DDoS protection to the suite of available solutions, addressing a critical customer concern as the size and frequency of cyber attacks continues to rise.
