AT&T will be offering its exclusive 'smartcase', a one of a kind smart device that can help customers to connect Wi-Fi only models of iPad Air 2, iPad Air, iPad mini 3, iPad mini 2 and iPad mini to the 4G LTE network. Unveiling this at the CES 2015, AT&T said that the Modio smartcase will be available in AT&T stores and online for iPad mini 3, iPad mini 2 and iPad mini with Wi-Fi models initially, followed by iPad Air 2 and iPad Air with Wi-Fi models. The protective case also serves as a stand while being able to extend the storage for these popular tablets via a 32GB microSD card.
According to AT&T, the durable smartcase which is a first in the US, will be provided via its Mobile Share plan. AT&T did not however unveil the pricing for the smartcase, saying that it will announce it soon.
The AT&T Modio smartcase comes with a 4,600mAh dedicated battery providing users with up to 10 hours of continuous use. According to AT&T, the smartcase also offer AT&T Modio Data application that allows users to monitor and manage their data usage.
