This week, Deutsche Telekom, Cisco and Intel have jointly presented the results from Challenge Up!, the European acceleration and incubation programme for startups. The program aims to bring promising Internet of Things services and solutions to the market at a faster pace. The demo day at unBound Digital in London, follows a six-month programme that involved 12 startups from around Europe.

The participating start-ups were selected by a panel of senior leaders from Cisco, Intel and Deutsche Telekom, based on their success in conceiving a number of IoT products across different areas, including smart solutions, big data and connectivity. Throughout the programme, the startups worked on viable IoT solutions that had clear real-world benefits, from allowing diabetes patients to measure and maintain blood sugar levels in real-time (Admetsys) to reducing time spent searching for parking through crowd-sourced data (HiPark), said Deutsche Telecom in a statement.

The two-day event saw the startups presenting their use cases to the panel of mentors, including Elias Drakopoulos (SVP Deutsche Telekom), Mike Flannagan (VP & GM Cisco) and Christian Morales (CVP & GM Intel).
