Cisco announced its intention to aquire CliQr Technologies for a sum of $260 millionto expand hybrid cloud management portfolio. The CliQr team will join Cisco's Insieme Business Unit reporting to Prem Jain, senior vice president and general manager. 

CliQr is a privately held company based in San Jose that helps customers to simplify and accelerate their private, public and hybrid cloud deployments. CliQr provides an application-defined cloud orchestration platform to model, deploy and manage applications across bare metal, virtualized and container environments. 

CliQr is already integrated with a number of Cisco's data center switching and cloud solutions, including Cisco's Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI) and Unified Computing System (UCS), said the company.
