Huawei, a leading global information and communications solutions technology (ICT) provider, Monday announced the acquisition of Software Defined Networking (SDN) technology from the Irish company Amartus. Amartus is a Dublin based software developer and SDN service solutions provider. The acquisition of Amartus’ software assets will enable Huawei to accelerate its SDN roadmap and improve its competitiveness in SDN solutions and services by introducing fast business innovation and multi-vendor capability.

According to a statement by Huawei, Amartus’ senior team and product staff that specialise in software-defined networking will be joining Huawei (Ireland). Under the deal, Amartus also gets to retain rights to service current customers.
