FreedomPop, a leading mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) in a number of countries, this week announced the launch of its own full-featured, low-cost wifi-first smartphone, FreedomPop V7. The V7 is only available on a “first-come, first-served basis while supplies last” to customers in the UK and Spain initially.

The new Android  6.0 Marshmallow smartphone which runs on Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor is being sold for £59. It boasts cutting-edge technology, including dual SIM, seamless wifi-to-cellular switching and automatic wifi calling when connected to a strong network.

In addition, the FreedomPop V7 comes with a free FreedomPop SIM complete with free voice, text and data included, as well as free WhatsApp usage. Users who want more than the basic free plan can either upgrade to a paid FreedomPop plan, use a different SIM, or both, as the phone is dual SIM.

While FreedomPop has been successfully selling refurbished, low-cost devices for years, today marks the first time FreedomPop has launched its own smartphone..

Nicholas Constantinopoulos, FreedonPop International President
In order to ensure everyone can get access to wireless service, it was important we offer a high-quality, full-featured Android phone at a price anyone can afford. Starting today with the FreedomPop V7, there is no reason anyone should be without wireless service.
