Samsung Expands Fitness Wearable Portfolio with Gear Fit2 and Gear IconX

Samsung continues its expansion in the fitness wearable market with the global unveiling of theGear Fit2 and the Gear IconX. 

The Gear Fit2 which is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor coupled with 512MB RAM, 4GB storage and 200mAh battery, comes with build-in embedded GPS and a heart rate monitor (HRM) that offers accurate and robust fitness tracking and measurement, while providing instant feedback on the user’s workout. 

The Gear Fit2 features Super AMOLED curved display with a high-resolution color touchscreen for users to easily monitor their fitness, or check and respond to text message notifications. With its auto tracking feature, users will not have to manually activate the sports band – when running, walking, cycling, or utilizing rowing or elliptical machines. It provides amongst others, fitness data such as distance, speed, duration, heart rate and calories.

The Gear IconX, said Samsung, provides a lightweight, secure and comfortable fit with three different sizes of eartips and wingtips; and can be activated by simply placing the earbuds in the user’s ears.
