du, a leading telecom provider in the UAE announced a new service that allows its mobile subscribers to pay for purchases in the App Store and for Apple Music, iTunes, directly from their mobile phone account.

Last year, the Operator turned on direct carrier billing for customers to charge purchases such as apps and games on Google Play.

The service will be available to all du postpaid and prepaid mobile customers in UAE. du's competitor and the largest mobile operator in the UAE, Etisalat has launched a similar service earlier this month.

du customers with a new or existing Apple ID can “Pay with du” by selecting Direct Carrier Billing as a payment method in your account settings for the App Store, Apple Music, and  iTunes. The new payment option will be configured automatically and immediately allows for one-tap purchasing from all your devices.

The launch of the service sees du take a dynamic new step in the development of its financial services and customer service.
