NTT Communications (NTT Com), Tuesday launched its expanded Virtual Private Network (VPN) service - Arcstar Universal One Virtual - to enable quick implementation of secure connectivity globally. It allows users to easily create, use and control overlay networks on-demand via existing corporate networks or the Internet using software-defined network (SDN) virtual technology. Arcstar Universal One Virtual is made available in 27 countries, including 12 in the Asia Pacific, 11 in the EU, Middle East and Africa, and 4 in the Americas.

NTT Com has established Arcstar Universal One Virtual platforms on the East Coast of the United States and in the United Kingdom, joining existing platforms in Japan, to enable customers to choose the best platform for the shortest latency. Additional platforms will be established on the U.S. West Coast, Hong Kong and Singapore after July, according to NTT Com.

NTT Com said that customers can create one or more flexible, rapid, low-cost and on-demand networks simply by installing the Application on a PC, smartphone or similar device, or by using customer premise equipment, the Adapter. Integrated management and operation of newly created virtual networks are possible via the NTT Communications business portal that facilitates real-time service activation as well as additions or changes to the network configurations.

NTT Com expects to further enhance Arcstar Universal One Virtual by adding extended API liberation and a stronger authentication mechanism.
